First times are always unforgettable, but for an artist stepping onto a festival stage in another country, it hits different.
That was the case for Filipino Canadian pop punk artist Mico, who recently made his debut festival appearance at the iconic Lollapalooza Berlin.
Despite encountering technical issues backstage, Mico, born Miguel Veloso, found solace and strength in the passionate energy of his fans, the Amicos.
“Berlin i love u,” Mico wrote on Instagram after his performance. “im ngl it was a rough day for me with our tech issues (insane amt of copium was inhaled backstage) but i don’t think any noon slot artist has fans that scream out the words as loud as you do, showing up in the pouring rain chanting their name as soon as the doors opened.”

His heartfelt post was met with an outpouring of support, with fans celebrating not just the performance, but Mico’s gratitude and authenticity. In the comment section, he added, “istg i could hear y’all more than i could hear myself that’s CRAZYYYY.”
Mico also took the opportunity to announce a newly added show in Berlin on Nov. 26, much to the delight of local fans. “thank you @lollapaloozade for having me and i can’t wait to see a bunch of familiar faces at the show we just added,” he shared, before signing off with “ok bedtime zzzzzz.”
This moment comes amid a banner year for Mico, who is riding high on the success of his “Internet Hometown Hero” tour. The tour, named after his viral breakout status and deep connection with fans online, has officially sold out in every city it has visited.
