Police stop man outside station only for him to reveal he’s an undercover cop

Met Police officers stopped men outside a train station, only to discover they were plainclothes members of the force.

The bizarre mishap occurred outside Homerton Overground Station in east London.

A viral clip, believed to have been filmed last year, showed two uniformed officers intervening after the two undercover officers appeared to be in an altercation with a suspect.

The uniform-wearing pair rushed to break up what looked from the outside to be a normal street fight, not realising it involved their own colleagues.

The undercover sergeants raise their voices, explaining their identity to their fellow uniformed officers.

A crowd is seen watching on as the drama plays out, while the four officers talk over each other.

Eventually, the uniformed police realise their error and apologize to the others.

The pair continue to apologize as they back away, clearly embarrassed by their mistake.

Meanwhile, the suspect standing against the wall is heard telling the plainclothes officer: ‘Are you mad? You could’ve been anybody.’

While the video recently resurfaced, Met Police confirmed it related to an incident which occurred more than a year ago, the Daily Mail reported.

The original clip was watched thousands of times, with some viewers speculating the mix-up was between Met Police and British Transport Police officers, given that it was near a railway station.

‘Rah police fighting each other fam, flipping hell’, wrote the person who filmed the altercation.

One user quipped: ‘How many police does it take to listen to the undercover police officer.’

Metro has approached the Met Police for comment.
