A murder investigation has been launched after a 20-year-old man died in hospital two days after he was shot in east London.
Otas Sarkus was found with gunshot wounds in Upton Park just before 11pm on Wednesday.
He was rushed to hospital, but despite doctors and nurses trying to save him, he was pronounced dead yesterday afternoon.
Shortly after finding Otas, police were called another young man, aged 18, who had been shot . He was on a 238 bus on Plashet Grove – a road near Upton Park.
The teenager was also taken to hospital but his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
Now, officers are trying to find who was responsible for the violence and are appealing to the public for information.
Detective Chief Inspector Linda Bradley, said: ‘Our heartfelt thoughts are with Otas’s family and friends at this time.
‘We have been working tirelessly to try to understand the circumstances surrounding this incident and are today appealing for the public’s help with our investigation.
‘The shooting happened in a busy residential area, and I am appealing for people to check their dashcams or private CCTV, specifically for any white Volvo SUV/4x4s – which we believe to have been involved – in the areas of Upton Park and Forest Gate between 10pm and 11pm on Wednesday.’
