HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. – A helicopter crashed Saturday amid beachfront hotels in Huntington Beach, injuring two people on board and three on the ground.
The California Highway Patrol reported the crash occurred at 2:09 p.m. Saturday, and closed Pacific Coast Highway in the area.
A Citizen photo from the scene showed the fuselage of the helicopter wedged between hotel stairs and palm trees, and video showed the helicopter spinning until it wound up there.
This helicopter just crashed in Huntington Beach during a filming for a movie. I saw a part come off of the helicopter and it’s spent a couple of times and slammed into the bridge and threw the palm trees. Pretty scary and no idea the condition of the pilot. pic.twitter.com/hoeN48ZHUI

The crash site was in the 21000 block of PCH, where the Waterfront Beach Resort and Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort and Spa are located. An event, Cars and Copters on the Coast, was taking place in the beach parking lots in front of the hotels.
