A London bus has careered into a row of shops, narrowly missing a busy Pret A Manger.
The double-decker mounted the pavement and smashed into the shopping parade in Westminster at 1.40pm on Tuesday.
Images show the number 3 bus to Crystal Palace embedded into the SW1 Dental Studio in Great Peter Street.
Firefighters and police rushed to the scene to find one person injured. A black taxi has also been seen on the pavement next to the wreckage.
Rosie Trew, head of bus service delivery for Transport For London, said: ‘We’re working with bus operator Transport UK to investigate the cause of a collision earlier today on Great Peter Street.
‘Our thoughts are with the one person who is believed to have been injured and with anyone else impacted by this distressing incident.
‘We have support available for anyone affected.’
It is not clear who the injured person is, whether they were on the bus or inside the dental studio at the time of the collision.
The road has now been cleared.
The Metropolitan Police have been approached for comment.
Last month, the number 24 bus ploughed into bollards on Allington Street, near Victoria Station which should be accessible only to cycles and pedestrians, shortly after 8.20am earlier today.
