A song born from a complicated feeling has now become a historic milestone for OPM.

Breakout singer-songwriter Mariah Deborah’s “Na Para Bang” has made history as the first song by a female OPM artist to enter the Billboard Global Excl. US chart, landing at No. 106 on the Oct. 24, 2026 chart, according to Billboard.

Days before the song’s official release in February, Mariah Deborah opened up about the emotions behind “Na Para Bang” through an Instagram post, sharing how the track was inspired by the uncertainty of navigating feelings while trying to protect an important relationship.

“Alam kong maraming nakakaramdam nung naramdaman ko last year nung nasulat ko ‘to. Super confusing and scary kaya malagay sa sitwasyon kung magpapaagos ka ba sa damdamin o magpipigil dahil may pinoprotektahan kang pagkakaibigan. Hindi mo alam kung ang pagiging ‘matapang’ ay pagsugod o pagtimpi (I know many people have felt what I was feeling last year when I wrote this. It’s so confusing and scary to be in a situation where you have to decide whether to follow your feelings or hold back because you’re trying to protect a friendship. You don’t know whether being ‘brave’ means taking a chance or showing restraint),” she wrote.

She added, “I hope this song gives you something—comfort, courage, enlightenment or whatever.”

That emotional honesty helped “Na Para Bang” connect with listeners, especially on TikTok, turning a personal reflection into a shared experience for fans who found pieces of their own stories in the song.

The Billboard Global Excl. US chart, which ranks songs based on streaming and sales activity from territories outside the United States, now includes Mariah Deborah alongside other Filipino acts who have achieved international chart recognition.

She joins OPM artists such as Cup of Joe, whose “Multo” debuted at No. 74 in 2025; Earl Agustin, whose “Tibok” entered at No. 144 in 2025; and Juan Karlos, whose “Ere” debuted at No. 138 in 2023.

The achievement comes amid the song’s strong performance across streaming platforms. As of this writing, “Na Para Bang” has surpassed 38 million streams on Spotify, while Mariah Deborah has reached more than 6.6 million monthly listeners on the platform.
