A pay rise for nurses ‘could save NHS money’ by retaining staff

Nurses work the equivalent of one day a week for free after pay fell by 20 per cent in real terms since 2010, analysis shows.
But giving them a pay rise would help the NHS save money because of how expensive it is to hire staff from overseas, say London Economics researchers commissioned by the Royal College of Nursing.
