Filipina tennis ace Alex Eala and Hong Kong’s Coleman Wong have reportedly unfollowed each other on Instagram, fueling breakup rumors months after Wong confirmed their relationship during the US Open.

The unfollowing, which online sleuths quickly noticed this week, has set off a wave of curiosity from tennis followers who once celebrated the young athletes’ on- and off-court chemistry.

Both known for their shared beginnings at the Rafael Nadal Academy in Spain, the couple appeared to be one of tennis’s most promising power pairs.

Just a few months ago, the duo shared a career-defining moment at the US Open in New York, each making history as the first players from their countries to win a Grand Slam main draw match. Their connection, however, wasn’t limited to tennis milestones.

Coleman Wong confirms relationship with Alex Eala

During the tournament, Wong publicly confirmed their relationship for the first time in an interview with USNewsRank, putting an end to long-running fan rumors.

“Yes, we are for sure,” Wong said, while noting that they preferred to keep things “low key.”

The two were often seen supporting each other during matches. After Eala’s second-round loss to Spain’s Cristina Bucsa, Wong was spotted offering comfort in the player’s tunnel, wrapping his arms around her as she fought back tears. In the same interview, Wong said he would “support her no matter what.”

Fans also fondly recall their sweet online interactions, including Eala’s comment “Firm ” on Wong’s US Open post and her repost of their split-frame victory photo.

But with their recent social media move, many are now wondering whether the once-celebrated tennis couple has quietly parted ways.
