He is soon due to move to the Sandringham estate after facing pressure to give up his home in Windsor.
Earlier this week a removal van was spotted outside Andrew’s home of 22 years.
The ex-prince is now expected to move into temporary accommodation, while work is carried out to his future home, Marsh Farm, expected to be complete by Easter.
Andrew had lived at Royal Lodge rent-free thanks to a 75-year lease negotiated back in 2003.
Under the terms of the agreement, the former prince had committed to an upkeep schedule and promised to open his home to inspectors at all times to ensure it remained it good condition.
However the Daily Mail reported last week that the property had in fact not been checked once in the whole of royal’s 22-year stay.
Andrew was forced to step back from public life after details emerged about his controversial relationship with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
He is also accused of having sexually assaulted Virginia Giuffre, a claim he continues to deny.
The former prince also came under pressure following revelations concerning his ten-year stint as trade envoy for the UK, during which he insisted on staying in luxury hotels courtesy of the taxpayer.
On one occasion he is alleged to have had dozens of prostitutes brought to his hotel room while staying in Bangkok, Thailand.
Andrew has also been accused of using the public office to further his personal interests and contacts, including reportedly using his position to fix an appointment in China for his business partner David Rowlands.
