What are the symptoms of salmonella?

Most people with salmonella infection have diarrhoea, fever, and stomach cramps.

Other symptoms can include:

  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Chills
  • Headache
  • Blood in the stool

A side effect of these other symptoms could include dehydration and exhaustion if you aren’t properly sleeping.

Tesco has advised shoppers who have bought the recalled fruit not to eat it and instead return it to any Tesco store where a full refund will then be issued.

Asda told customers they would issue a full refund for the affected produce, even if you don’t have a receipt.

Morrisons, Sainsburys and M&S all issued similar point of sales notices, asking customers to return the fruit to their nearest stores for a full refund, even without a receipt.
