An army veteran inspired by the legacy of Captain Sir Tom Moore went for gold in a gruelling 24-hour endurance challenge which raised more than £400,000.
Eddie Towler, 53, from Bradford, West Yorkshire, who joined the army aged 16, finished the 54-mile route in a record nine hours and 53 minutes.
