Automation sparks job losses at Gateshead call centre

More than 100 jobs are likely to go after a massive call centre on Tyneside signalled it would be automating some of its functions.

The former Worldpay site on Gateshead’s Team Valley, which was recently acquired by US financial services provider Fidelity National Information Services Inc (FIS), has announced a consultation with staff on up to 140 redundancies.
