Former United States President Bill Clinton has insisted ‘he saw nothing’ while giving testimony over his ties to Epstein in Congress today.

He told lawmakers ‘I saw nothing, and I did nothing wrong’ during the closed-door Depostition hearing in New York.

Ahead of his testimony, he wrote on social media: ‘I have called for the full release of the Epstein files. I have provided a sworn statement of what I know.

‘And just this week, I’ve agreed to appear in person before the committee. But it’s still not enough for Republicans on the House Oversight Committee.’

Both Bill and Hillary have continued to deny any wrongdoing in relation to Epstein, but they were mentioned multiple times in the files.

In her opening statement to the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee yesterday, Hillary said: ‘I had no idea about their criminal activities. I do not recall ever encountering Mr Epstein. I never flew on his plane or visited his island, homes or offices. I have nothing to add to that.’

After laying out her past work to battle sex trafficking, she said the committee compelled her to testify, ‘fully aware that I have no knowledge that would assist your investigation, in order to distract attention from President Trump’s actions’.

‘If this Committee is serious about learning the truth about Epstein’s trafficking crimes, it would not rely on press gaggles to get answers from our current president on his involvement; it would ask him directly under oath about the tens of thousands of times he shows up in the Epstein files,’ she added.

Trump’s name appears more than 38,000 times in the millions of Epstein documents released by the Department of Justice.

‘If the majority were serious, it would not waste time on fishing expeditions. There is too much that needs to be done. What is being held back? Who is being protected? And why the cover-up?’
