BMW driver huffed laughing gas during 130mph chase because ‘girl cheated on him’

A BMW driver who led police on a 130mph chase along the M25 told officers ‘my girl just cheated on me’ during his arrest.

Mudassir Sandhu, 24, was finally caught close to junction 10 in Surrey after his high-speed getaway attempt was brought to a shuddering halt by a ‘stinger’ device.

Footage shows Met Police officers chasing after his BMW X1 before smashing a window and hauling him out.

Sandhu can be heard asking them why he’s being ‘beaten up’, only to be told ‘because you’re driving like an absolute imbecile’.

He was also spotted using nitrous oxide balloons and switching the lights off during the chase.

Asked why he was using balloons, he responds ‘I’ve got depression, alright.

‘Listen, my girl literally just cheated on me, man.’

The officer says: ‘And this is your appropriate response to that?

‘You’re an imbecile.’

Later, Sandhu reveals that the car he’s driving was a ‘work car’, before adding: ‘I’ve lost my job, innit?’

The officer responds: ‘Yeah, damn right.’

Sandhu, of Morden, south London, was charged with dangerous driving and failing to stop.

He was sentenced to 12 months in prison at Guildford Crown Court in June.

He was also disqualified from driving for four months and ordered to pay a £187 fine.
