Boris Johnson has proposed banning MPs from acting as paid political consultants or lobbyists as he tries to stem a sleaze row.
The prime minister tweeted a letter this afternoon saying he had written to the Commons Speaker with his plans to ‘update’ the Code of Conduct for MPs.
