Pop superstar Charli XCX is officially off the market, having tied the knot with her longtime partner and creative collaborator, George Daniel of The 1975.
The couple said “I do” in an intimate ceremony held at Hackney Town Hall in East London on July 19.
Surrounded by around 20 of their closest friends and family, the low-key nuptials reflected the couple’s desire for a private and personal affair. Charli’s parents were in attendance, along with several members of The 1975, although frontman Matty Healy was noticeably absent.
The wedding may have flown under the radar, until confetti-filled photos surfaced online, but Charli later confirmed the news with a post on TikTok.
In the humorous video, the text reads “when George isn’t crying when he sees me walking down the aisle,” to which Charlie affirmed, “luckily he did xx.”
One user remarked, “So George Daniel is now George XCX.”

Who is George Daniel?
George Daniel joined The 1975 back in the early 2000s, helping shape the band’s signature alt-pop sound. Not just a drummer, he also handles programming, keyboards, backing vocals and even production duties.
Born in Belgium, George lived in the US for part of his childhood before settling in England, where he eventually became a core member of one of the UK’s most prominent bands.
He and Charli’s paths crossed musically in 2021 on No Rome’s “Spinning.” From there, their bond only deepened, personally and professionally. George co-produced several tracks on Charli’s Crash album, the Bottoms soundtrack and her critically acclaimed 2024 album “Brat.”
Songs like “Club Classics” and “Apple” carry his sonic fingerprint and he even gets a lyrical nod in “Sympathy Is a Knife.”

Charli once joked that George is “such a bitch in the studio,” but she also called working with him a “whole new dynamic.”
In November 2023, she announced their engagement with a now-iconic caption: “charli xcx and george daniel f‑‑‑ing for life!!!”
