Children on free school meals fall further behind in GCSE results

Grades of pupils from poorer backgrounds suffered more during the pandemic, this year’s GCSE results suggest.
Exam regulator Ofqual said the ‘long-standing results gap’ between students who get free meals and those who do not increased by around one tenth of a grade compared with 2019.
