Crossbow killer Kyle Clifford’s last words with victim moments before attack

This is the final conversation a triple murderer had with the mum of his ex-girlfriend before killing her and her two daughters with a crossbow and a butcher’s knife.

Kyle Clifford murdered his ex-girlfriend Louise Hunt at her home in Bushey, Hertfordshire, after he became ‘enraged’ by her decision to end the relationship.

CCTV footage shows him parking his car in the streets near the family home, before knocking on the door and speaking to mum Carol Hunt.

He tricked the 61-year-old into letting him in before stabbing her to death in a ‘brutal knife attack’ with a 10-inch butcher’s blade.

The ex-soldier can be heard telling her he was ‘just dropping off some of Louise’s stuff’.

Mrs Hunt asks Clifford how he is and he replies: ‘I’m good, thank you. What’s wrong? You look like…’

Mrs Hunt responds: ‘I’ve seen a ghost.’

Saying he has brought round a goodbye card to the family, Clifford instead takes a 10-inch butcher’s knife from his backpack and stabs Carol to death.

He them waited for Louise to come inside from the garden pod where she ran a dog grooming business before tying her up, raping her and eventually shooting her with a crossbow, jurors heard.

As Hannah arrived home from work on July 9, Clifford shot and killed her as well, Cambridge Crown Court was told.

Hannah managed to ring the police, saying, ‘my sister’s ex-boyfriend has come in and he shot us’.

The ‘whooshing’ noise of a crossbow bolt being fired at the family home was played in court.

Earlier footage shows Clifford at a garden centre with his mother, father and niece in Enfield on the morning of the murders.

The defendant previously admitted three counts of murder, one of false imprisonment against Louise Hunt, and two counts of possession of offensive weapons – the crossbow and the knife.

Clifford, of Enfield, north London, denies a single charge of rape, against Louise Hunt.
