Donald Trump’s niece says he’s in a ‘downward health spiral’

Mary Trump has said her uncle’s ‘decaying’ health can no longer be ignored and claimed he was in a ‘downward spiral’.

President Donald Trump’s niece wrote about her uncle’s health in her weekly newsletter amid fierce speculation that the US leader is deteriorating mentally and physically.

Referencing his recent erratic behavior in late-night posting sprees and the flailing Iran peace deal, Mary added: ‘He may still have moments when he appears more coherent, but psychologically he’s in a downward spiral.

‘He’s experiencing constant narcissistic injuries, and nothing terrifies Donald more than humiliation.’

White House spokesperson Steven Cheung disputed Mary’s account of her uncle’s health, calling her a ‘stone-cold loser who doesn’t have a clue about anything’.

Trump has shown more physical symptoms in the past two years, having just turned 80. Swollen ankles, bruised hands, a neck rash and alleged mental decline have plagued his second term in office.

In late May, Trump visited Walter Reed Medical center for his third hospital visit in 13 months, for a routine medical and dental check-up.

In July 2025, he was seen struggling to stay awake while Medicare administrator Dr Mehmet Oz began talking about healthcare.

And in May last year, he fell asleep with his mouth open as a star witness took the stand during his hush money trial.

Trump, almost 80, insisted his recurring bruising is because he takes around 325mg of aspirin daily to prevent a heart attack or stroke.

Among his many gaffes, Trump has previously confused Joe Biden with Barack Obama, his former Republican opponent Nikki Haley with Nancy Pelosi and the presidents of Hungary and Turkey.
