After building a life in the United States, away from the Philippine entertainment spotlight, Fil-Am television host and actress Donita Rose recently returned to the Philippines with her husband, singer Felson Palad.
Feeling a blend of both nostalgia and sadness, the former ”Umagang Kay Ganda” host reminisced while revisiting familiar hallways at her home network, ABS-CBN.

While Rose soaked in memories, Palad stepped into the national singing stage. The US-based singer joined the 10th season of ”Tawag ng Tanghalan,” the popular singing segment of the noontime program ”It’s Showtime.”
Representing Region IV, Palad impressed both judges and viewers with his rendition of “One Hundred Ways” by James Ingram.
On Feb. 19, Palad was declared the winner after earning a 90.3 percent average score. Judges Bituin Escalante, Yeng Constantino and Louis Ocampo praised his performance, citing his vocal control and voice quality over the song. The win secured him a slot in the regional finals scheduled for the weekend.
Palad has been actively performing in the US, steadily building his music career abroad. He was a nominee at the 37th ALIW Awards for “Best Filipino Artist Based Abroad” in the male category.
