A raging driver deliberately rammed a pregnant woman driving with her baby, because she was giving a lift to his girlfriend.

Corey Morgan, 21, smashed into the terrified woman three times as she was trying to give his pregnant girlfriend a ride home.

Ragin Morgan tried to plough into her a fourth time – but instead accelerated into a tree, leaving himself with a broken neck and fractured skull.

A court heard Morgan and his partner had rowed before her friend picked her up as she tried to get her baby to sleep by taking him for a drive.

Prosecutor Rob Simkins said Morgan – who was high on drink and drugs – threatened to ram them after an argument.

Mr Simkins said Morgan had taken cocaine and cannabis before getting behind the wheel of his Vauxhall Corsa to follow them.

Mr Simkins said that during the pursuit, Morgan crashed into a stationary Vauxhall Astra and wrote it off, and the mother was able to drive away.

But he caught up with her Kia Rio and rammed it three times in Ebbw Vale, South Wales.

‘The driver at this point was terrified that he would kill her and her baby,’ Mr Simkins said.

Cardiff Crown Court heard that as he caught up with them to ram a fourth time, he lost control and collided with a tree.

When officers arrived at the scene, he told officers: ‘I weren’t driving.’

The court heard he suffered a fractured skull, broken neck and a bleed on the brain after his car flipped onto its roof.

The defendant was taken to the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff, where he spent two weeks being treated.

Morgan, of Ebbw Vale, pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, following the crash in July last year.

His barrister, Sali Harmes, said: ‘He made a massive, massive mistake.’

The judge, Recorder Greg Bull KC, told Morgan: ‘You have nobody to blame but yourself. You were lucky you weren’t killed, and lucky that other people weren’t killed. This was deliberate driving of a disgraceful nature.’

Morgan was jailed for eight months and banned from driving.
