The London Underground is causing grey hairs for passengers this morning after travel chaos on the Elizabeth line.

Commuters on the Elizabeth line were left scrambling for alternative travel options after the line was suspended between Paddington and Abbey Wood due to a signal fault and severe delays on the rest of the line.

Footage shows a huge crowd at London Liverpool Street after trains were halted at the UK’s busiest station. Meanwhile, the Metropolitan line has been suspended between Harrow-on-the-Hill and Watford after a gas leak.

It comes after days of travel chaos on UK roads, rail and airports as Storm Bert brought snow, ice, heavy rain and flooding.

Several major railway routes continue to have weather disruptions, including on Great Western Railway, Transport for Wales, between Exeter St Davids and Okehampton and in Northampton where the tracks are flooded.
