European stock markets revive vaccine hopes
European stock markets surged on Monday on hopes of a coronavirus cure, as the euro gained against the dollar in the lingering deadlock of a new U.S. stimulus deal, dealers said.
Ahead of a key central bankers meeting this week, traders pushed up the London benchmark FTSE 100 by 1.7%, while the major eurozone indices were more than 2 higher, 0% at closing.
