Filipino American actor Brandon Perea takes on his biggest horror role yet as Nick, the male lead in “Insidious: Out of the Further,” the sixth installment of the supernatural franchise.
Directed by Jacob Chase, the upcoming film follows Gemma, portrayed by Amelia Eve, as she discovers her ability to travel into The Further, the mysterious realm introduced throughout the franchise.
Her journey takes a dangerous turn when she accidentally brings supernatural entities back into the real world, forcing her and Nick to confront forces beyond their understanding.
Joining Perea and Eve are franchise regular Lin Shaye, along with Laura Gordon, Sam Spruell and Maisie Richardson-Sellers.
As Nick, Perea plays Gemma’s partner as they navigate the terrifying consequences of her connection to The Further.
Reflecting on his latest project, Perea shared his excitement about continuing his streak of appearing in major summer films.
In an Instagram post, the actor wrote, “I’ve recently been lucky and blessed enough to be in a Summer Movie every two years.. I’d really like to continue that tradition. GRATEFUL! @insidiousmovie in theaters THIS WEEK!”

Celebrating his roots
Before joining the cast, Perea was already a longtime fan of the franchise and watched previous films with his sister. His appreciation for the series deepened when he read the script and discovered the story he would eventually help bring to life.
The role also allows Perea to celebrate his Filipino and Puerto Rican roots. The actor has shared his excitement about representing both cultures in a film centered around supernatural themes, noting the strong connection these communities have with stories involving spirits, folklore and the unknown.
The actor also shared his pride for the film alongside his co-stars, encouraging fans to experience the latest chapter of the horror franchise.

The film premieres in theaters on Friday.
