Five men, aged between 38 and 26, have been arrested after a woman was raped.
The victim, a woman in her twenties, contacted police on Sunday morning and said she had been raped overnight at a home in Montpelier Place, Brighton.
She is being supported by specialist officers, Sussex Police said.
As part of the investigation, five men have been arrested on suspicion of rape. One is aged 38, two are aged 32 and two are aged 26.
The five men were still in police custody as of Sunday evening, and police are continuing to investigate.
A force spokesperson told Metro: ‘Police in Brighton have arrested five men on suspicion of rape following a report received on Sunday morning (February 9).
‘At around 9.40am, a woman in her 20s reported having been raped overnight at a property in Montpelier Place, Brighton.
‘She is being supported by specialist officers and an investigation is now underway.
‘As part of those enquiries, five men – aged 38, 32, 32, 26 and 26 – have been arrested on suspicion of rape.
‘They remain in custody at this time.
‘Enquiries are ongoing to understand the full circumstances and no further information is available.’
