Freeport in Bristol region could create 50,000 jobs
The West of England has submitted a bid for special ‘freeport status’ to the government.
The move could create nearly 50,000 jobs in the Bristol and Bath region and regenerate the area, according to the West of England Combined Authority (Weca), which put together the proposal.
The so-called ‘Great Western Freeport’ would be based around Bristol Port, with extra tax and customs sites at Avonmouth…
