Halifax are axing at least 107 bank branches in the next two years.

Eight branches face the chop in March as the bank reacts to increased reliance on online and mobile banking service.

Halifax, which is part of the Lloyds Banking Group, said the decision was made after assessing the potential impact on customers, including their continued access to banking services.

For customers who need in-person banking, Halifax says a Community Banker may visit the area after the branch closes.

An independent review could also mean a Banking Hub or Deposit Service may be set up in a nearby location.

As of January 2025, Lloyds, Halifax and Bank of Scotland customers can visit branches across any of these three banks for everyday banking, as they’re all part of the same group.

People can also head to a nearby Post Office to withdraw cash or make deposits.

Lloyds are closing 115 branches in the next two years, where as Bank of Scotland will close 30.
