A homeless man has confessed to murdering a woman with a mallet just days after she invited him over to stay.
Apapale Adoum, 39, pleaded guilty at the Old Bailey to murdering Victoria Adams, 37, who was found dead at her flat in Hammersmith, west London, in February.
Prosecutors previously heard Ms Adams suffered ‘at least ten separate injuries’ to her head after being struck with the weapon.
The court previously heard Ms Adams had recently written a letter to him, asking him to leave.
Some nearby residents recalled hearing screams in the middle of the night a few days before her body was found.
Adoum stood in the dock to enter his plea, wearing a grey t-shirt. He also submitted a document to the court to explain his actions, which contained ‘derogatory comments about the victim’.
Judge Nigel Lickley, KC, told him: ‘I will sentence you on 24 October and on that day I will sentence you to a life sentence.
‘The thing I have to decide is the minimum term you will serve’.
