LOS ANGELES – Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has announced the arrest of an undocumented Filipino who allegedly stabbed two roommates during a dispute over orange juice.

Phil John Amazona Yumang was arrested on April 28 in Las Vegas, Nevada, according to a press release posted on the Department of Homeland Security website.

Convicted of attempted murder and battery with use of a deadly weapon, he will remain in custody in Las Vegas pending deportation proceedings.

“Phil John Amazona Yumang was arrested after allegedly stabbing two roommates during a dispute over orange juice,” ICE wrote in a Facebook post.

“Yumang, an undocumented immigrant from the Philippines, told authorities that he attacked one of the victims because they insulted him during the altercation. He also confessed to stabbing the second victim out of anger for getting involved.”

Yumang was among five undocumented immigrants arrested in an immigration crackdown on April 28. The four other detainees are from Mexico, Cambodia, Guatemala and Nicaragua.
