The animated K-pop girl group HUNTR/X might be fictional, but their impact is very real.

Social media has been flooding with memes about the group’s hit track “Golden” from Netflix’s “KPop Demon Hunters,” with some fans joking that you can’t get through the day without hearing it “in full blast.” While the song has split listeners between those who love it and those who’ve had enough, the social media noise has only fueled the film’s historic rise.

Over the weekend, theaters in the US and Canada hosted “KPop Demon Hunters: The Sing-Along Event,” where fans showed up to celebrate the movie’s music together.

With its compelling story and addictive music performed by on-screen idols SAJA Boys and HUNTR/X, the film has transformed its soundtrack into genuine chart-topping success. The OST also made history, becoming the first ever to place four songs simultaneously in the Billboard Hot 100 Top 10.

Beyond numbers, the film has now entered the prestigious Oscars Screening Room for the upcoming 98th Academy Awards. This early entry means Academy members can preview the movie as a contender for next year’s awards, raising hopes for a nomination.

The franchise’s future looks even brighter. Industry insiders hint at two possible sequels already being discussed, alongside mounting speculation of a live-action adaptation.
