”KPop Demon Hunters” star EJAE became the first-ever K-pop artist to win a Grammy Award, as “Golden” clinched Best Song Written for Visual Media.
Performed by EJAE alongside Audrey Nuna and Rei Ami, the track powers HUNTR/X, the fictional K-pop girl group at the heart of the animated feature.
Still processing the milestone, EJAE poured her emotions out in an Instagram post after the win.

“GOLDEN WON A GRAMMY!!” she wrote, before reflecting on how unreal the journey felt. “I am still trying to process this whole past week, I still cant believe I was even nominated for a Grammy….Growing up I always dreamed of winning a one, but it felt so impossible.”
She went on to thank the Recording Academy for what she described as an “insane honor,” adding that the award carried deeper meaning beyond the music itself. EJAE emphasized how much the win meant to her “as a musician, and even more as an Asian-American woman,” calling it a reminder “to never give up, to not be afraid to take risks, and to stay resilient.”
She closed by thanking Audrey Nuna and Rei Ami, calling them her “sisters,” and acknowledging the glam team that helped her feel confident during such a defining week.
Nuna was quick to celebrate the moment as well, commenting “legendary” on EJAE’s post.
On the Grammy red carpet, EJAE summed up the significance of the achievement, calling it “a historic moment,” and sharing how personal the recognition felt as a Korean American artist breaking new ground in an industry where representation still matters deeply.
