Fresh from her involvement in the Nexus Summit in New York, following her participation in last year’s Asia Summit, the actress is now part of a thought-provoking creative series titled “Can I Come In?”
The project, described as a “cinematic video series” and a “podcast-cinema-documentary hybrid,” is the brainchild of Palestinian Australian artist Sarah Bahbah, who also serves as director and host.
It delves into themes of intimacy, self-worth and raw storytelling through unscripted narratives from women, including Soberano, Mia Khalifa, BANKS, Nemahsis, Yesly Dimate and Cindy Kimberly.

In an Instagram post, Bahbah revealed that creating the episode with Soberano was a highly collaborative process. She said she built the world of the episode “in close collaboration” with the actress, shaping every detail of the set around where Soberano felt safest, a place where she could completely tap into her truth.
“As a director, I built this world in close collaboration with @lizasoberano shaping every detail of the set based on where she told us she feels safest, a space where she could fully tap into her truth,” she wrote.
According to Bahbah, what viewers will see on Aug. 14 is entirely unscripted, with her role not as a therapist but as someone “holding space” and gently prompting Soberano through the story she wanted to share.
She cautioned that the episode might stir discomfort, calling it “raw, vulnerable, and deeply human,” and urged audiences to handle it with care because “Liza deserves all the love in the world.”
The project, she added in a separate post, is a fusion of art and emotion, what she called “cinematic therapy” and “sacred chaos.”
Expressing her excitement, Bahbah wrote, “I love these women so much,” while thanking @wepresent for believing in the vision when it was “just a crazy concept.”
