A fire has broken out in a building near a railway line, forcing several trains at London Euston station to be disrupted.
The London Fire Brigade said it was called to the scene in Regent’s Park Road in Chalk Farm, north west London after a single story commercial building caught fire.
Ten fire engines and around 70 firefighters are battling the blaze at the scene, which broke out around 9.30am this morning.
Adelaide Road is closed between Winchester Road and Haverstock Hill while the firefighters tackle the flames. People are being urged to avoid the area.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
National Rail has said there will be major disruption until 3pm at London Euston. It added: ‘As a result, trains running between Clapham Junction / London Euston and Watford Junction, between Richmond / Clapham Junction and Stratford (London) and also between Gospel Oak and Barking Riverside may be cancelled, severely delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised.’
Affected passengers are able to use their tickets on certain alternative routes.
