Multiple vehicles collided on the M25 bringing traffic to standstill.
Emergency services rushed to the scene between junction 25 (Waltham Cross) and junction 24 (Potters Bar).
National Highways East said: ‘Traffic is currently STOPPED on the M25 anti-clockwise between J25 (#WalthamCross) and J24 (#PottersBar) due to a multi-vehicle collision.
‘Delays are building on approach. Please allow for extra journey time.’
A four-mile queue built up on the M25 anti-clockwise with delays of up to 60 minutes.

The road was closed to allow an Air Ambulance crew to land and pick up an injured person.
Routes through Enfield and Edmonton were also congested, including the North Circular around the Great Cambridge Interchange as drivers sought quicker routes.
National Highways East said the victim’s injuries are not as severe as first suspected.
Three lanes have since reopened on the M25 anti-clockwise between the two junctions.
The outside lane remains closed due to a collision, meaning 20 minute delays and four miles of slow moving traffic on the approach.
