The fire in Golders Green

Yesterday morning, the London Fire Brigade attended a fire on the same road.

The emergency service received calls at around 6.47am concerning a blaze behind the supermarket Kosher Kingdom. The blaze is thought to have been caused by an electrical fault and is not being treated as suspicious. No injuries were reported.

In a statement issued at the time, London Fire Brigade said: ‘Firefighters are currently responding to a fire on Golders Green Road in Golders Green.

‘The fire has occurred in a building which is three storeys, with a shop on the ground floor and premises above.

‘The fire is producing a significant amount of smoke, and we’re advising people in the area to keep their windows and doors shut at this time.’

Golders Green has featured in headlines frequently following a series of alleged antisemitic attacks in the area, including an alleged arson attack on a Jewish ambulance service in March.
