A man has been taken to hospital following an incident involving a chemical substance in Crawley this morning.
Emergency services arrived at a house on Fletcher Close in the West Sussex town’s Southgate neighborhood after being called at around 5.10am.
A 40-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm, and was also taken to hospital as a precaution.
The man who was injured in the incident was also 40 years old, Sussex Police said.
They said they do not believe there is any broader risk to the public.

Part of the road was cordoned off by officers due to the incident, according to the Sun.
A police spokesperson said: ‘Emergency services responded to an incident involving a chemical substance which took place at an address in Fletcher Close, Southgate, Crawley on Sunday 13 September at around 5.10am.
‘There is no wider risk to the public.
‘A 40-year-old man has been taken to hospital to be treated for injuries, and a 40-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. She has been taken to hospital as a precaution.
‘A temporary road closure was in place in Fletcher Close while emergency services remained at the scene.’
