An emu and a man were seen wrestling on a country road – before the animal headbutted him and ran off.
The massive bird is thought to have escaped its holding in Salcombe, Devon, before being tackled to the ground.
James Barker, 46, captured the epic battle as he drove along a road on September 9.
A man can be seen wrestling the exotic bird whilst struggling to keep it under control as the animal resists his grasp.
The man can be heard shouting: ’emu down, emu down!’ as an alpaca from inside the farm’s gates watched the whole ordeal take place.
After scuffling for at least 20 seconds, the bird then headbutted its captor, sending him flying onto the road before running back into the gated property it escaped from.
James, who was laughing hysterically throughout the unusual event, said: ‘It’s not something you see every day!
‘I had to take video, otherwise people wouldn’t believe me. I saw the bird on the road, so I pulled up to let the guy get hold of it – but it was too funny not to try and film.
‘The alpaca standing in the gateway made the scene. It was evident the bird was not quite so keen to get back to his home!
‘Nowadays, with everything going on in the world, it’s quite nice to see something that is a bit entertaining!’
Ro Barker, James’s wife, shared the video to social media, where it has received over two million views.
Someone commented: ‘You can’t make that up, this has made my day.’
Another said: ‘Only in Salcombe!’
