Mile long queues of traffic after five car pile-up on M4

Drivers on the M4 are stuck in mile-long queues amid a multi-car crash which shut two lanes on the busy road.

The crash, involving five vehicles – three cars and two vans – has closed two lanes near junction 20 at the Almondsbury Interchange.

Photos from National Highways cameras show major traffic backups on the motorway.

The crash happened on the M4 Eastbound, between junction 20 M5 J15 and junction 19, on the M32 towards Bristol.

It’s unclear if there have been any injuries, but Bristol Live has reported that fire trucks are on scene.
