LOS ANGELES – Another 140 vote centers will open this weekend, adding to the 111 sites Los Angeles County established for the Nov. 4 statewide special election on congressional redistricting.
All 251 vote center will open daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. for in-person voting, voter registration and vote-by-mail ballot returns. The county mailed all voters a postcard listing the nearest 11-day and four-day vote centers to their residence.
“With all L.A. County Vote Centers open, voters have convenient options to cast their ballot early,” Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk Dean C. Logan said in a statement. “Avoid the rush, make a plan to vote early this weekend or Monday at a location that’s convenient for you.”
A complete list and map of vote center locations are available online at locator.lavote.gov, including optional GPS tracking to identify the location nearest at the time of the query.
Additionally, eligible voters who missed the registration deadline can visit any vote center, complete a conditional voter registration and cast a ballot in this election.

More vote centers opening across San Diego County
Additional vote centers will open Saturday across San Diego County for this year’s special election, giving local voters the opportunity to cast their ballots at any of 68 locations countywide.
County vote centers will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day through Monday, while hours will expand to 7 a.m. through 8 p.m. on Election Day.

While most voters will be tasked solely with deciding Proposition 50, which aims to redraw California’s congressional maps, residents living in Poway’s Council District 2 will also be voting on whether to recall City Councilmember Tony Blain.
Along with being able to vote in person, drop off a mail-in ballot, or vote by using a ballot marking device, residents may register to vote, or update their voter registration at vote centers.
Residents were reminded that campaigning within 100 feet of a vote center or official ballot box is not allowed, which includes making visible or audible displays, or circulating petitions. (With CNS report)
