A massive bronze statue showing Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein holding hands has appeared outside the US Capitol.
Titled ‘Best Friends Forever’, the artwork, made by persons unknown, has a plaque reading ‘In honour of friendship month’.
‘We celebrate the long-lasting bond between President Donald J. Trump and his ‘closest friend,’ the plaque read.
The pair are holding hands and appear to be skipping in the installation, which sits at the end of the National Mall.
White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson told the Washington Post: ‘Liberals are free to waste their money however they see fit.
‘But it’s not news that Epstein knew Donald Trump, because Donald Trump kicked Epstein out of his club for being a creep.’
Trump has been facing mounting pressure to release all of the Epstein files, as rumours about his connection to the disgraced financier continue.
In July, Trump was reportedly told by his administration that his name appears in the Jeffrey Epstein files multiple times.
US Attorney General Pam Bondi informed Trump in a White House meeting in May that his name is in the Justice Department documents on the late sex offender, senior administration officials told The Wall Street Journal.
Trump learned that the ‘files contained what officials felt was unverified hearsay about many people, including Trump, who had socialised with Epstein in the past’, according to the report.
‘Many other high-profile figures were also named.’
An administration official quickly shot down the report.
‘This is nothing more than a continuation of the fake news stories concocted by the Democrats and the liberal media,’ said White House spokesman Steven Cheung in an email.
The Journal report came after the newspaper published a story alleging that Trump sent Epstein a letter for his 50th birthday in 2003 with text framed by the outline of a naked woman, at the request of the disgraced financier’s accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell.
Trump has vehemently denied penning the letter and filed a defamation lawsuit against The Journal, the two reporters who wrote the story, and the publisher.
Earlier this month, an Epstein memorial plaque was placed at Trump’s Aberdeen golf course.
The political organisation Everyone Hates Elon placed the memorial plaque for the late disgraced financier on a bench at the golf club on Monday.
A video shared by the group on Instagram shows a hand holding the plaque with the words: ‘In loving memory of Jeffrey Epstein – a terrific guy. See you very, very soon. From Donald.’
In the caption, the group wrote that Epstein was a sex trafficker and a paedophile ‘so we know he’d (Trump) want to remember him properly on his Aberdeen Golf Course’.
