North East firm Ford Engineering celebrates landmark anniversary
A South Shields engineering firm set up with a £25 start-up loan is celebrating a landmark anniversary, still being run by the same family.
Ford Engineering was founded at Tyne Dock in 1910 when founder Robert Ford used a £25 loan from fellow freemason to take on two members of staff and set up a new manufacturing venture.
