Omicron is ‘first ray of light’ that Covid may become similar to common cold

The Omicron variant is possibly the ‘first ray of light’ in ensuring Covid-19 becomes endemic and easier to live with, a leading doctor has said.
Dr Mike Tildesley, from the University of Warwick and a member of the Scientific Pandemic Influenza Modelling group (Spi-M), said the virus could eventually become less severe and more akin to the common cold.
