Passengers at facing delays at Paddington station after a fire alarm was sounded just before 7am.
Great Western Railway said some lines are blocked this morning and trains running to and from the may be cancelled or delayed as a result.
It warned disruption is expected until the end of the day, however National Rail said people will only see a disruption until 8am.
A statement from National Rail said: ‘The fire alarm is sounding at London
‘Trains that run to / from / through will be disrupted and may be cancelled, revised or delayed by up to 30 minutes. Disruption is expected until 8am.’
One passenger warned that the entrance to the tubes has also been shut this morning.
James G posted on X: ‘7AM. Tuesday morning. One of London’s busy terminal stations (Paddington). Primary entrance to the tube station closed! You can’t make it up.’
National Rail has since shared an update on X, saying London Paddington had fully reopened.
It warned that trains running to, from and through the station could still be cancelled, revised or delayed by up to half an hour while service recovers, potentially disrupting the morning rush hour.
Metro has contacted London Fire Brigade and the British Transport Police for comment.
