A 92-year-old woman was in a critical condition after impaling herself on her banister.
The pensioner was found stuck on the first floor landing handrail in Wolverhampton by emergency crews after managing to call 999 for help.
The freak accident happened at her home in Ounsdale Road at 9am on Wednesday.
