Plane makes emergency landing on burst tyre at East Midlands Airport
A plane took off from Birmingham Airport before it performed an emergency landing

Fights at East Midlands Airport were prevented from taking off after a plane performed a miraculous emergency landing on a burst tyre.

The TUI flight was diverted mid-air after it took off from Birmingham Airport on Monday.

The plane landed with all the passengers evacuated safely but it is now blocking the runway at the Leicestershire terminal.

Other planes hoping to land were diverted to nearby Birmingham Airport.

Some passengers complained on social media of being stuck on the tarmac for more than an hour as airport staff try to solve the issue.
