Port of LA extends container fees, prepares to begin charging slow-moving empties
As the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach also prepare to enact fines on empty containers that linger too long, Los Angeles harbor commissioners on Thursday, Jan. 13, unanimously agreed to extend the three-month-old program allowing fees to be levied on loaded containers that take up dock space.
