Spring is finally here, and with it, Easter.

For anyone who needs to collect or send anything from the Post Office this Easter Monday, you’ll need to check whether your local branch is open before leaving the house.

To help, Metro has brought together the expected opening times for Post Office outlets over the Easter period. However, we do recommend you check the opening times for your local branches using the Post Office’s branch finder.

Is the Post Office open on Easter Monday?

Branches of the Post Office are expected to be closed on Easter Monday, a bank holiday.

Similarly to Good Friday, there will be no Royal Mail deliveries or collections on Easter Monday in England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland.

It’s expected that branches will return to ordinary working hours from Tuesday, April 7.

When was the Post Office open over Easter?

Good Friday

Post Office outlets were closed on Good Friday as it’s a bank holiday, and branches that did remained open closed earlier than normal.

Royal Mail has also confirmed that there will be no deliveries or collections on Good Friday in Northern Ireland, Wales and England, except in TD15. In Scotland, collections and deliveries functioned as normal.

Easter Saturday

Post Office operated as normal on Saturday, April 4, with most branches opened between 9am and 6pm, though this depends on your local branch.

Easter Sunday

The Post Office closed most branches on Easter Sunday. Again, if some locations were open, they operated reduced hours.
