Boris Johnson has been accused of betraying the north as it was confirmed the HS2 route to Leeds has been scrapped.
A high-speed line linking Manchester to Leeds via Bradford will also not be built – – breaking a key manifesto promise to ‘level up’ the country by investing in a ‘Northern Powerhouse Rail’.
