Here’s why Robert F Kennedy Jr hopped into an ice bath while wearing jeans

It looks like a video that would be filmed and edited by fraternity brothers to show off their physique, but it’s not.

Instead, Donald Trump’s health secretary, Robert F Kennedy Jr, is filmed plunging into an ice bath, wearing only jeans.

RFK Jr teamed up with controversial musician Kid Rock and shared the video and said he wanted to deliver ‘two simple messages to the American people: GET ACTIVE + EAT REAL FOOD.’

The pair posed with American flags, filmed themselves eating large cuts of steaks and then, wearing his infamous jeans, plunged into a pool.

A shirtless RJK wore his denim on a sitting bike, doing push-ups, taking a dip in the pool and playing pickleball.

The odd pair then toasted with two glasses of whole milk in the pool, before the video ended with the message ‘Make America Healthy Again’.

RFK Jr is known for wearing his jeans even while doing the most extreme exercises – like hiking up a mountain in Arizona when it was 41°C.

Photos of the health secretary drenched in sweat went viral after he shared pictures of the hike last year.

He’s also been photographed shirtless, wearing only jeans, while playing with his grandchildren in a muddy creek.

RFK Jr previously said he had suffered from a brain parasite which ‘got into his brain and ate a portion of it, then died’.

The former heroin addict, now the face of America’s health campaign, also previously contracted hepatitis C from drug use and has atrial fibrillation.

Kennedy, who is former US president John F Kennedy’s nephew, has an interesting past.

In 2024, Kennedy admitted to dumping a dead young bear at Central Park in New York City after an old photo emerged of him with his hand stuffed in the animal’s mouth.

Shortly before that, Kennedy rejected claims that he ate a barbecued dog after a photo surfaced of him holding an animal carcass.

Kennedy insisted that it was a goat, despite some experts saying it appeared to be a dog.

Now, he’s turned his focus on ‘making America healthy again’, seeking to reduce chronic disease in the country, encourage Americans to eat healthier, lower environmental toxins and grow food safety programs.

His confirmation was opposed by his own cousin Caroline Kennedy, who previously served as US ambassador to Australia and Japan. 

She wrote in a letter to US senators before the hearings that he is a ‘predator’.

‘Bobby preys on the desperation of parents of sick children – vaccinating his own children while building a following by hypocritically discouraging other parents from vaccinating theirs,’ she wrote.
