Nine children have been injured following a crash between a school coach and a bus on a busy slip road.

The coach driver and eight adults on the bus were also injured in the collision near Sutton Seeds Roundabout, outside Reading in Berkshire.

South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) said two people were taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital for further treatment.

Three children and three adults were still being assessed for their minor injuries.

The remaining 10 patients were discharged at the scene.

The service said the paramedic team leader reported road conditions were very icy at the scene.

The bus’ engine burst into flames following the crash, with firefighters at the scene for two hours and minutes.

Two cars also collided on the same slip road on Wednesday morning, resulting in no injures, SCAS added.

The collision in Reading took place just as a bus filled with school children crashed into a ditch in Kent.

The bus slipped on black ice before being seen nose-first down an opening off a road at Chilmington Green in Ashford.

Officers and paramedics rushed to the crash site but there were no reported injuries.
